Hey man I know how you feel...I was just like that and I tried all possibilities to get my license, I went and spoke to the police captain a few times even got him to approve it but they have a new computerized system now, the only way you can be registered as a driver is if you are 18. There is one way I found out but was not helpful to me...YOU CAN GET A DRIVERS LICENSE IF YOUR DAD/MUM OR SOMEONE IN YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY WITH A LICENSE HAS SOME MEDICAL PROBLEM AND CANNOT DRIVE ANYMORE. BUT THIS WOULD REQUIRE THAT THE PERSON WITH THE MEDICAL PROBLEM GIVE UP HIS/HER LICENSE. Other than this there is NO OTHER WAY(unless your an Al-Thani). I had to end up waiting...i just got my license yesterday. I seriously recommend that you DO NOT DRIVE without a license because the consequences are not worth it. Just wait for a few more months and do it legally or else be prepared to spend a night in jail. I suggest that you start classes when you have about 1-2 months to your 18th b'day and then take your test soon after to hit manhood. Don't take your classes too early either, I took mine 6 months before my b'day and i lost touch on my test, i failed the first time... although i am a great driver :(

Hope this helps...

Raj
