Apartments in West Bay

Looks like I am moving to Doha and need to arrange somewhere to live. Since my office is in West Bay (Four Seasons) I would like to live as close as possible to there, can anyone suggest any buildings that are close by that might have 1 or 2 bed apartments available?
I can only seem to see apartments available in ZigZag towers, which seem to be a little further round the bay, which I will consider but would really like something as close as poss? Also if you can give me an idea of what the going rate will be to rent a 1 or 2 bed in this area?

TIA

myself123, If it's only costing 6k, it's worth it all day long. I stayed there and had no problems whatsoever, in fact I enjoyed it. I would've stayed there for that money but they wanted £17k for my apartment on the 30th floor :-(

The West Bay Area is more expensive than other areas of Qatar, you can see some apts. for rent at www. coreo.com. Some apts. at the Pearl are available and have nice services.

My husband will be working in the West Bay area - we will move to Doha in July/August. We are looking for a 3bd U/F villa. We have a few questions,

1- What's a good area and what's is the current rental value?

2- Do people normally contact Realtors, or search through ads?

3- Have the rentals come down, or is it still pricey?

I have read that Al-Waab, Al-Saad, Ar Rayyan are decent areas - any thoughts, and any suggestions?

Thanks.

So is the Ezdhan hotels no good?

My company is giving me a 2 bed apartment there for upto 3 months...and will deduct 6K permonth from my housing allowance. Is that worth it?

I've stayed there before, for about 2 says and it was roomy, but the ervices was not up to standard.

Hope to hear more...as I'm planning on being there end of March.

I agree with you BellA, Rent in Dubai is quite cheap now and the quality much higher than what you can get in Doha for the same rent value.

I recommend Al Saad area. Also about 20 min maximum to West Bay (Four Seasons. you could get a good 2BR apartment fully furnished for 7K.

You could get a villa in Gharaffa for 12-14K now and its about a 20 min drive to west bay

Thanks all! Gosh it is expensive here, I am in a nice big 2 bed NOT in the middle of a building site here in Dubai for 8k and this would be due to go down to 7k at renewal!

So what would be some good and reasonably priced compounds (villas or apts) which are further out but accessible to FS West Bay?

Al Maha Towers are just inbehind Beverly Hills Towers, with the Four Seasons just across the road....a 2 B/R fullyfurnised apt will be 12-14K per month, could possibly negoiate a better deal in the current market. The place has a nice pool, gym etc....good value for money....only go with Ezdan for a very short term thing....very overpriced and extremly poorly managed...

for a two bed in the area fully furnished 'deluxe' apartment would be anywhere between 8500 Riyals and 15000 riyals with a one year contract

a one bedroom studio would be 5500 Riyals and upwards

To cut to the chase... very close to Four Seasons, you can check out Ezdan Towers... its about 500m away

http://www.ezdanhotels.com/

a studio apartment is 10000 per month and a one bedroom flat is 13000 per month and they have discounted corporate rates... but they have a decent gym and swimming pool... location is great but wouldn't suggest staying there for long though...

For the long term however, I would suggest widening your ideal location a bit because

a) you can't get any where in Qatar if you don't have a car, walking is impossible and public transport is non-existent

b) If you do have a car, most residential areas are about 20 to 25 minutes drive from the Four Seasons even with traffic... Doha is a pretty small place and the traffic situation has really improved in the past year or so

FYI... I work close to the Four Seasons... which is on the Northern part of the town... I live all the way across town at Wakrah which is the Southern tip of Doha and beyond

I just take 25 minutes to drive to work everyday...

With a pose like that in your profile you'll get plenty of offers to share.....

1-2 bed flats in West Bay go from 9000 QR to about 14000 QR per month

but there are lots of places available...

just look here on QL....BUT BEWARE OF AGENTS and any money you give to them could be scammed,,,,

lots of that stuff going on here with little or no recourse to the courts..

Heard that Four Seasons has some apartments nearby? Apparently, the rental is quite competitive. Way out of my price range so I don't really know but heard some friends talking about it.
