Hi All,

As i am exploring and preparing my family and myself to move to Qatar, I was wondering.

Since Singapore does not have an embassy or high commission in Qatar, what can a singaporean do when they need help?

*scratching my head*

U damn kiasu......

no wonder the big bro need to kick you guys ass to get out of the hdb to export the sgp talent....

if GIC oredi bagged 2 billion++ projects, sure got many lobang here one la...and BIG lobang then so many pple like u n me flocking in.

melboune sure is more 'high' then the boring modh sultan la....dun u know the big boss need to open 2 casino to make u guys feel more fun at home? otherwise, all become quiters...then chia-lat.

my opit next door, he become quiter simply he cannot 'fight' with the chip engineer from mainland, who is asking less then 1/2 his price for the same job....not that, also damn hardworking. another "student' look QS also run away for the all free double salary, i think very soon, when we all go back, the HDB is flooded by those migrants from china, india, bangla....while those talented sgp brain will be sleeping in doha, for the double salary or in shanghai, sleep in 'wen-ru-xiang'

if you cannot take it, leave it !!

Well,

As mentioned, it is certainly helpful to know where the embassy is... Great Stuff...

And I will definitely get in touch with Amy Tan, and the fellow singaporean in Qatar... Unfortunately, QIC has yet to confirm the meeting, hence i am still not about to confirm any meeting with some of the people here.... Also, the initial visit, they are only paying for 2 days fo lodging... so i don't think i'll have enough time to meet everyone... My wife has a friend in Doha at the moment, I will probably meet him and get some first hand information...

Honestly, I am still not sure about moving... I remember when we moved to melbourne a couple of years ago, the initial starting period was painful for us. Missing home... missing singapore... etc..etc... but at least melbourne is more exciting then Singapore.... I am not sure if i can say that about Doha, judging from some of the post i have been reading..... hahaha

Still.... let's see how it goes!

thanks Everyone!

I am not a Singaporean but some of my coworkers are. If you need more information before you start your adventure here, please let me know. I will try to see if they could assist.

As you get a chance to an exotic place & culture, try to explore it. Don't miss hometown so much :o\

there is a singaporean community call 'Red Dot in Qatar'. The secretary call Amy Tan ... and her e-mail address register in Happening Book who came out monthly. If any other QL'er who have that book can write down Amy's e-mail address probably you can contact her before you come here. I am sure she can connect you with singaporean community in Doha.

all the best with your move to Doha.
