This is my first post in QL! I will be moving to Doha in April and I'm very excited! My boyfriend is planning on moving in May and we will be getting married in the Sharia courts so we can live together legally. Has anyone done this? Is it a fairly simple process?
Also, if anyone has any sugestions on what i should bring with me, i will be living there for at least 6 months,i would appreciate it! I'd also like some ideas on what there is to do in Doha for entertainment, I am 24.
Thank you and i look forward to moving and meeting lots of new people!

My parents will be sponsering me, they've been there 3 years, and i have a job lined up already, not sure if i might be sponsered by them.

My boyfriend and i will be getting married as soon as he gets there, i'm going to get settled before he comes. we are going on an extended vacation, working and traveling, but not moving permanetly. We were not planning on getting married before, but since we would have to be to live together, we think the better choice would be to get the sharia marriage instead of one in the US. If we find that marriage works for us, we havent been together even a year, we will do so in the states.

Who will sponsoring you staying in Qatar. Are you aware you cant stay in the same house with your boyfriend if you not legally married to him. It is against the law.

As pwb said ... why dont you get married before coming to Qatar and save all the hassle.
