6 month accomodation

I am planning to go to Doha and leave my family overseas for around 6 months. This will allow me time to settle down and get work clear. I was wandering where and for how much can I rent a 1br apartment for 3-6 months. I realize that most tenancy agreements will probably be for a year or more but wandering if anyone has experience with shorter term.
