The reason is... It's not really what you know but who you really know :)

The Employers here can find other Nationals with the same qualification and experience at a lower cost than an Australian.

Could it be that Qatar isn't the world centre of fashion!?!?!?

Besides, there are people of Asian nations who will cost a lot less than an Aussie to hire.

I'm not really sure if having a degree from Australia would give you an edge over other applicants. Often times, employers also try to see whether you have the right experience for their advertised job openings. Have you tried applying online at www.gulftalent.com and www.bayt.com? Good luck!

To be honest. Alot of the people here get positions based off of people they know at the company. They get referred. It doesn't matter where you are from. Any job away from your home country demands "experience" along with a qualification. Many people think that getting a degree is your way in...but experience is key. At least 5 to 10 years experience is what you need in a competitive developing country.
