Just think of the black Abaya, as the little black dress that never goes out of fashion..Just kidding, its a cultural garmnet, theres plenty of other Abayas in difeerent colours.
Because black color wont let you see all the details of the body unless its really tight ... and it should be black or dark color so it wont grab attention
imagine u see a women with red colored abaya ... thats gonna make u look
I have seen pink, blue, brown, and various other colors and patterns too, for eg. dotted or with floral designs. The borah muslim community in India don colorful Abayas.
Abaya can be any colour but in all gulf countries its since long back we wear black, its just a cultural issue nothing else. the colour is nothing to do with religion bcz in islam the important thing is to wear any dress covering full body and not showing the shape of a woman body it doesnt matter what colour we wear. as egyptions, syrian, jordan and other islamic countries wear any colour but full covered its all the same and its all accepted by islam
'coz abayas should be black in colour.then no use of wearing other colours,u dont feel like its an abaaya.if u want u can wear other colours also, there no such objection in qatar

The abayas are mostly black because it is considered Sunna. The wives of the prophet (PBUH) wore black.
In scientific means it may be for this reason.
-Black Absorbs Heat fast.
-Black Makes difficult for women to go out and stay longer.
-And The culture wants women to stay at home.
Its just my shot....
wat the color 2 do with ....human being..?
the question is absurd...!
the separation by religion ,non defined boundaries and colour is the contibution to humanity by westerners.............
during colonial stage they sowed such separation ...in ..all the places on earth...........now the are reaping by selling their weapons .......
.....they r now the whole salers of weapons ......wearing the mascott of peace...........
" It doest mean.....all are alike ........",,,,there r so much of good qualities in them ........some thing we could not find in any body.....",
this topic reminded me
of Michael Jackson.. Ha-ha!

actually ..it supposed to be black to hide the figures of the wearer, and not to have an issue of temptation by the other gender.
because this is part of their traditions (long story)...abayas shouldnt necessary be black!!!
'coz abayas should be black in colour.then no use of wearing other colours,u dont feel like its an abaaya.if u want u can wear other colours also, there no such objection in qatar
Not only Qatar it's every where, actually I havent seen any other color.
