Salaam, but you don't need to buy any special pad. All that is required that there be at minimum a light layer of dust. So even the dust that collects overnight on a table etc is sufficient. All your friend needs to do is touch a table or wall with his/her palms. Only need a tiny bit of dust. Otherwise just have a little sand in a jar or something? I just think your making it more complex than it need be by looking for this pad. Anyway I do dua for the sick person and hope they are cured asap.
