What's wrong with the traffic???

Just now passed through corniche & moved towards Sofitel... God, this route which usually used to take 20mins for me today took almost an hour.... Lucky i felt when i reached to my desk to post this question....
Whoahh...the traffic..it's getting worst nowadays. And just this afternoon, the usual 7 to 10 minutes drive from my place to Rumailah took about 45 minutes. I took what i thought was a short cut going back home but...it has to be regretted later. Finally, i was not able to report for my overtime...ahhhhh.
Is "when there's police, there's the traffic build up"...after all true??

I got stuck in it today as well. didn't move from my spot for over 30 minutes near civil defense roundabout.
anyone know how long the cycling tour lasts---or what hours of the day it runs? I want to be sure to hide in my house at those times.
I was just about to post a thread, asking if anybody else had noticed that traffic had been better the last couple of weeks!
Doha traffic will move at snails pace if all the groceries and other small shops in the residential areas are gonna close down. Everyone will be running to the malls or will we get a new grocery home delivery service. Have to wait and see.
Yes u are right too much traffic.

I think it was the cycling. I've been thanking God every day for the last ten days for the great traffic.
morning and after 5 its disgusting 1 km we wait on 2 hours on trafiic in my qatar life im using my libing time 60 % sitting in car stuck in trafiic tooo baddd becoz all the roads under construction thats making the problem here
Police blocked part of Corniche cause of "Doha Tour" cycling race;-)...I've been in AlRumailah park with my kid and we didn't know how to run away (after one hour)of that helicopter filming the teams on heating exercises,big noise!!Very crowded traffic back to Al Sadd, true!!
my dear, wait till the west-bay "wakes-up" in a year or two! just imagine when all those sky-scrapers begin to fill-up!

Welcome to doha 09, expect much more in the becomin days...doha citizens r increasing like a muatation...and traffic would double...this is wat i expect
