i'm new in qatar, just joined an engineering company few weeks back, what's here to do in the evenings, i've joined Dana club also, but it feels life is so boaring here, especially after returning back home from work.
Buy your self a boat or a jet ski, I guarantee you that on the weekends you would not be bored. As for week days go with a couple of your mates to some of the hotels, they have nice places to get a drink and meet new people. At this time of year, the water in beaches feels like your in a jacuzzi!
Actually it depends on you. I think its too early for you to get bored. My first few months here were quite the best. Everything feels so new.Scary yes, but it has made me tough.
Yup a lot of us without our families here are bored, but I want to name it monotonous so as to lessen the negativity. You are on the right track in joining a club. Just sustain the energy to go there, for sure you'll get to meet other people once your settled in.
After your tiresome work ...go visit some Malls and you will feel relax to see some good views, other wise go shopping, you'll find lots of people there and get acquainted with them.
Try to make some like minded friends first as going out without friends wont be worth of it. Qatar Living is a great place to make friends. There is a group for Australians on Qatar Living...You can try this:
