What's the CHEAPEST internationnal phone communication tool?

Hello. I am going to move to quatar somewhere around mid august, and i'm wondering what is the cheapest (While good) phone service to Lebanon.

I've checked Skype, their rates as VOIP to Phone are quite impressive, 0.141$ to Lebanon. (Check your country's rates: http://www.skype.com/prices/callrates/ )

I found a cheaper site NetCalls4Less but don't know if it is trusted enough. (http://www.netcalls4less.com/call_rates.asp#l )

*How much does a minute cost from doha to beirut?
*Is Voip usable with the current internet connections in doha? (VOIP needs at least 512k to work efficiently)
*What companies run the mobile field in qatar (ex: mtc, etc..)
*Anything else i would need to know about the subject..?

Thank u.

Dear friends,

Please don't say aloud and clear the names of VOIP. Have u ever thought what will happen if any officers from Qtel happens to read our messages. Let the POOR people use these tools to contact there beloveds back in there natives. There are bigger crimes happening in qatar .... this is neglegible when compared.

Let us save the poor crowd .that is all we cud do. . .

Try Yahoo. It's only $0.139/min for landline calls, for mobile calls its $0.279/min to Lebanon.

You can buy online a prepaid credit of $10 using your credit card.

I use Skype.. I just buy credit online. It works. I even have a skype phone. :)

Sometimes the connection is bad and it gets cut every 5 minutes. That's the bad thing.

Qtel never block any website/service dedicated for VOIP. It's became ilegal if someone selling vouchers or use Computer to sell the service to others peoples for phone.

If only for Personnal user, its fine as long as it use by them self not to re-sell.

Now the question, where its to buy the voucher, if ilegal to sell it? I believe the VOIP website offer the voucher through online, just buy from them.

Yes, it is illegal in Qatar to use any system to avoid "Q.Tel' for any telephone services, but their charges are the highest in G.C.C too. But, still many people using different methods like Skype, Yahoo. Recently the police arrested many people, not only Indians, it includes Bangaladeshis, Srilankans etc for using this kind of methods for international calls. better you come here, talk with friends in Qatar and decide about it. You check the call rate from your country to Qatar, if its cheaper than from Qatar, better they call you, like many Indians do.

Erm... I think Voice Over IP (VOIP) use is illegal in Qatar! Some indians were allegedly arrested for using VOIP! You've been warned!
