What was it like growing up as a Qatari?

I am researching Qatari culture and I'm looking for Qataris who would be interested in sharing their experiences with me. I'd love to know about how things have changed in the past 20 or so years--about schools, typical households, family activities, etc, and anything else of interest. If you are a Qatari willing to share some stories, please PM me or leave a post. Thank you very much!

Well, as a Qatari I grew up in a friendly family environment. Loud people and lots of food.

We gathered around our grand parents every single day, it’s a must ( we still do!), all of us: the Aunts, Uncles, cousines..etc.

Actually my grandpa's house is like my own world, I find all the support and love that I need, and more. Even after I got married I still visit them everyday or call them If I couldn't.

When I need a shoulder to cry on, when I need MONEY, when I need a slap!! They've got it all. It's pure joy to be around them.
