What are my chances of getting a banking job?
Hi,
I worked as an Associate Business Analyst for 17 months with an IT company in Bangalore. I was handling the Treasury & Capital market product OPICS 's development. I had to take a 1 year break due to personal reasons. I have an MBA in Finance & Systems from a reputed Institute and a B.Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation. I am looking for a banking job in treasury or IT department. I am planning to come to QATAR on visit in Nov and have made the arrangements for staying. What are my chances of getting a banking job

mathematically, your chances can be determined by the number of applications you submitted to the bank establishments over a period of time. Commonly, chances are slim if only few applications are put to forward.
Persistence is the key but is not the only factor considered. You must also have the exact qualifications (to match with what is being searched for the open position) to compete with other aspirants.
It's not going to be easy but you need to keep trying.

you must be joking, or at least dreaming, and who ever may tell you come and try might be kidding you or simply knowing nothing! NOW? looking for a job in banking? IT? Business, etc. in Qatar? This sounds very strange. Banks have already terminated dozens of their Expat staff, Contractors have terminated contracts of hundreds of engineers & thousands of normal labour..
On the other hand it has been the Qatarization since quite long, 35'000 Job Application were received at the Qatarjob Exhibition a few months ago (for Qataris Only.
So, you decide!
Its depends how good you are at work..Qualification doesn’t speak much if u don’t know how to use them... So come and try as we all did... if u are good expressing urself you will get the job ....no one here could tell you whether you will get a job or not by seeing ur qualification and experience unless you come personally and try :)

you can come and try... but it is not easy to get a banking job now. all banks are thinking of cost control and reducing the number of staff which also affect the cost some how. also Qatarisation is going on in banking area. any how good luck and try to know some ppl who work for a bank they can help you with their connections.
