Just got a job interview in Doha, don't know much about the cost of living in Doha, thus I demanded for US$8,000 per month. Would it be sufficient fpr a family of three? Pls Advice...
QR 8000 is enough for a family of 3..although it should be exclusive of the accomodation allowance...i mean, your company should provide you the accomodation or if not an additional allowance for your place to stay....cause accomodation here is quite expensive....so if you have 8000 as salary, it should have accomodation allowance or a place for you to stay provided by your company...also, your lifestyle should be just average, not the super rich and famous lifestyle..you dont need that much money here,,,as long as you have a good place to stay, and you're not that choosy of your food,,,food here is very affordable...
Another thing is your transportation, if your company doesnt provide the service vehicle to drop you to office from your house, its better if they offer a interest free car loan...because if its not included, you will allot QR1000 for your transpo for a month...
It depends how much you want to pay to rent property.
Decent apartments start at around 8,000QR - 10,000QR if your lucky enough to find one at that price and if you want a villa they start at around 15,000QR and upwards again if your lucky enough to find one at that price.
$8,000 equates to 29,000QR so if you're paying 15K for a villa plus car purchase etc etc it doesn't leave much left over but in answer to your question, yes, $8,000 should be enough depending upon your standard of living.
Whether you will be able to save anything is another question.
