Traffic Fines

In view of hefty fines which have now been imposed I would like to ask if the Nationals are excemt from paying traffic fines?? One may not find any link between the issues, but the fine of upto 50,000 QAR for speeding is so hefty that I wondered if the locals are exempt from it, to pass such a law.

ooo

This country is going through a growing and learning process, they need time to overcome difficulties which have been in their traditions for generations.

I have lived in countries where there is 'democracy' for generations, but where people who have friends in the right places are exempt from everything even the law so I would always put this in perspective 'people living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones'.

what is this? A campaign against the Qataris. No one is exempt from the law and anyone who breaks the traffic rules will pay not just ex-pats. The rules have been put in place to help and support the safety of driving of the general community and when someone has to pay a heavy fine then that person will think twice about breaking traffic rules again. Give Qatar a chance to put this into practice for goodness sake.

Of course not. It would be absurd.

Nationals MUST pay fines.
