It's just an old belief that when pregnant women see the eclipse, their child born will have some kind of defects.
If you go by the map then Doha will be in darkness with no sun to see the eclipse!

No, it will be seen in India, and South East Asia. Middle East it is not visible.
Even then pregnant ladies should not go out during Eclipse especially if residing in Asian continent.
