Is there any holiday on 14 feb for Sports day in Doha(Qatar)? Can its applicable to all Private company's also?..If holiday is there then also we work can i get Extra pay ? and How much ?
AS PER EMIRI DECREE, TOMORROW 14-02-2012 IS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR ALL THE GOVERNMENT COMPANIES.

Ya its Public holiday, if any company works on Public holidays fine is 50,000 QR.

Sports Day declared public holidayThe Emiri Diwan yesterday announced that the National Sports Day, which falls on the Tuesday of the second week of February each year, will be a public holiday for ministries, other government departments and bodies, Qatar Central Bank and other commercial banks, financial institutions under QCB’s control, the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and Qatar Exchange. The Qatar General Postal Corporation (Q-Post) said it would issue a new stamp to mark the Sports Day.
I would also like to know this as I'm being told it does not apply to private companies? Can someone provide a link to prove otherwise?
