Is this a suitable salary

Hi

I have been offered 14 000 qatari riyals as a school teacher in Qatar. Does this sound reasonable. Any idea if I would be able to rent a flat, live and save a little of such a salary?

Thank you

malachite, there are studio type apartments or shared accommodation you may be able to find at the range of 5T - 7T. i know, that's half your base pay, right? plus you would need transport, say another 1,000. plus your incidental expenses. i'd say you would be left with very little. i wish you could negotiate with your employer to provide you accommodation, and keep your base pay at QR 12T (lol - worth a try!)

good luck!

If you are a single lady most probably the school would be providing you with accomodation. Transportation should not be much of an issue as cars come cheap over here. All other perks as per industry norms should come with your contract. The only thing that you would have to check out wud be the accomodation if you ask me as this is what eats away a majority of ur salary here.

If it was QR 14000 + housing +transport + flights then it would be better. Flats rent for +- QR 9000 / month so you will not have much left uless you can share and not renting via the company can have lots of pitfalls
