Strange thing that happened

So yesterday I put out an ad on Qatar living ..looking for some guys to help me move some household items to a villa.
A guy answers the ad almost within 10mins of posting and agrees to move my family's stuff the following day (I had to be at work all day for 12 hours)
They show up on time with a minibus and a truck and meet my wife and our nanny. They work all day and do a great job.
I finally get off work and come home to meet them and pay them. So one of the guys is a little short, not really dark and very thin. He also spoke fluent english and seemed to have an air about him of confidence but yet he was friendly. The other guy was tall, sort of stocky and looked like he could handle himself (my wife told me the bigger guy did alot of the heavy lifting). The big guy didnt really speak much but it appeared that he defferred to the smaller guy for instructions.
So we are sitting there just talking for a short while when the smaller guy calls his brother to come pick him up outside the compound. So they leave within a few minutes of the call to wait outside.
I should note that when my wife asked them how much the move would cost they said whatever she thought was a good price. Initially when I called her during the day to see how everything was going, that upset me because I like to know what somethings going to cost BEFORE i hire someone. So when I instructed my wife to get a price set, they said 1000 riyals. Thats for 12 hours or work plus a truck and boxes. It seemed a little low to be honest and I ending up paying more than that, since they did such a good job.
Well, about 20mins later I drive outside the compound to go to the store, and I see them getting into a brand new BMW 745 sedan. Is that kind of strange that what I assumed to be laborers (whom I have much respect for) be picked up in a brand new 150thousand dollar car?? lol!Somehow I dont think thats the norm.
I had asked the smaller guy where they were from and he said they were pakistani..but the smaller guy really looked like he was Qatari but I cant always tell. I have seen really dark Qataris and really light ones. But seeing as he was not very dark, I could tell he didnt do much work outside, and he wasnt very big as far as muscle, so to me it didnt look like he did alot of moving (I know because I had a moving job as a kid and you do build up some muscle tone over time). So could this have been a Qatari just having fun for a day?
Whats your opinion?

They were Pakistanis. Whenever theres an on-going conference, the transportation agencies rent/buy a number of luxury cars (in this case BMW 7 series), & hire local drivers temporarily for this job. These guys were drivers there, who wanted to earn a little extra.

Not Qataris, lol

Nothing strange about it. There could be any number of explanations. Firstly i know many Pakistani and Indians who own BMW's in Qatar nothing great. Have you also considered that the brother might be a driver for some Qatari and came to pick them up in his boss's car? Oh and a Qatari doing hard labour work for 1000 bucks...stop dreaming.

Dude, Pakistani means Pakistani.

Moving is a very lucrative business.

By the way, the BMW 745 has not been produced since 2005. It was replaced with 740 and 750. So there is no way that was a brand new car. You can buy a low milage 745 today for under $ 30k.

And, even when it was brand new, the 745 NEVER cost $150k! It used to go for approx. $75k.

Maybe they are locals. Having pics of them might be pretty helpful. :)

The locals are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to ensure that you are satisfied, well if they know you very well. Other instances of such helpfulness is when you encounter an accident (usually on a highway stretch).

From the account that you have given, I probably think they are the workers of the BMW owner. I have personally seen labourers been picked up in such a fashion, though not on a daily basis.
