Spurious billing on Qtel prepaid card?
Myself and a colleague bank with Commercial Bank and we have free SMS banking enabled. We have noticed that every time we receive a "free" SMS from CB that our Hala accounts are debited by almost 4 Riyals. In fact most of my last top up (30 Riyals) was depleted without me making a single call.......but I had received a lot of SMS messages from CB when I was setting up my credit cards and some bill payments.
CB say they have no knowledge of this, and that their SMS banking is entirely free.
Qtel are trying to say this is impossible and that my account debits are due to outgoing calls......yet they are unable to tell me how. I have records of my outgoing calls.......my last was to a Qtel mobile for 12 seconds, 2 days ago and my account has dropped 14 Riyals, in the same period I received a number of CB SMSs.
Has anyone else experienced this?
