Salary comparison

Hi All

I am looking at the options of relocating to Qatar and considering what salary I should hope for?

I know I need to weigh up the tax free status, but also the cost of accommodation is a lot higher than the uk.

Should I factor in all uk benefits (bonus, car allowance, pension, medical, etc)

Many thanks for any suggestions

My advice would be to only consider a position if the basic salary on offer is matching or is higher than your current (gross) salary in the UK. Ensure that the living allowance offered covers your accomodation and car expenses. Your employer will usually provide you with medical insurance, so no need to factor it in.

I was living in London prior to moving to Doha, so I can tell you that with the exception of the accomodation (and housemaid) the living cost is pretty similar to the UK.

What do you do?

How many years of exp?

What level are you?

What is your current salary and perks?

Answer them and we can give you a clear answer whether its worth coming or not.

calculate min 5000 for housing only

3000 to live average (food essentials, going out)

put a min 1500 to put asside for pension plan

then multiply your uk salary for hardship,. add the above and you have something to ame fore.

Thank you for the detailed response.

I assume you mean a bit vague, but aside from that, what further information would help you to furnish me with the guidance requested and not pointless drivel?

Thanks in advance for something constructive
