I'm coming to Qatar to work soon and would like to do some sailing. Can anyone advise regarding Sailing opportunities? I'd like to sail dinghies and/or yachts (30 - 50 foot) and will be based in Al Khor.

As you said that you will be based in Alkhor, There is Qatar gas-Rasgas Beach club which provides Sailing facilities but only for there staffs, But in Doha you can join Doha sailing club with membership fees of approx QR 2500 for family, you will find all international class of boats like Laser, 470,catamaran and open races on friday and saturday. Dhukan Watersports and RasAbouboud beach club is for Qatar petroleum Senior employees. You can apply for membership of Reggata sailing school

there is the sailing committee in Qatar you can enrol, or rent your own yacht or boat
