Reasonable Supermarket 4 Family Shopping
Hey all. I would like to get a feed back for this subject 'Reasonable Supermarket 4 Family Shopping'. I am here in Qatar for the last 4 years. I shopped in almost all supermarkets/Hypermarkets/malls. I realised that, even for a particular brand/type item supermarkets charging different prices. I wonder-whether there's a price controlling system functioning in this country. Different shop owners charging there own prices. Normally supermarkets/malls will highlight the cheapest/reasonable items in their brochures. If one item is in standard price-they will charge on its substitutes/brands. I found entirely different price in Lulu and Caarefour for same brand item.
I think this is not only my experience. So, I want to get a feed back for this subject from all Qatar Living participants.
try in iran souque, u can det evert thing at lesser price, fr vegetables go to veg market
I find Lulu reasonable but hate the crowd.
Try with Al-meera..
Try With Al-Meera,they have 24 branches and their price are cheaper like Lulu and Carrefour in food items.
buy the items at gaint store. purchase the same item at carrefour. remember, carrefour gives/pays you 10x the difference whenever you find the item cheaper than carrefour's products
According to an expert (my wife), on average for our weekly shopping, for big supermarket Lulu is the most expensive. Giant is slightly more expensive than Carrefour, but she prefer to shop there as it is less crowded and parking in Hyatt Plaza is easier than villagio.
The cheapest and most complete in term of ingredient for southeast asian food is actually FFC near the airport. However, during the evening it tend to get very crowded and you end up spending a lot of time at the checkout counter.
May not be statistically correct though
Cheers
