Re: job
My friend arrived there yesterday and he informed me that the accommodation in their company s*cks! He's a welder but the issue is they assigned him as crusher welder which is not his line. The agency here in the Philippines asked him to sign 2 contract the other one is with the real salary and the other one is higher than his salary. The agency informed him that it's just for Qatar Law. I think he's getting $450/month which is more likely 1650riyals. then the other one is 2,000 which is just for Qatar Law. What can u guys suggest? Is it normal?
Alright. The company even let them live in a desert without a decent accommodation, no uniform and all.
Unfortunately if he decides to go home immediately the company may demand he not only pay his airfare but the cost of bringing him to Qatar and processing his papers.
Thanks guys for your advise. I'll inform him, too.
But what's the other option? Can he just go back home and just pay the fare?
this has become a very common practice now........guys pls diont sign two contracts this is just a way of luring people this is horrendous........
Yes, it has been a normal contract with Pinoys in dire need.
- He signed the contract inspite of knowing its consequences.
- He travelled a long way from the Philippines in agreement with the contract.
- This is not the time to complain.
As the saying goes, we deserve what we get. Evil triumphs because good men do nothing.
He deserves it, nothing more!
He can go home, provided he spend for his fares and pay all expenditures spent by the company to his deployment here; if he has the bucks.
Al Mahd Trading. Is there any way if ever he doesn't like the work and all, can he just go back home? How?
No it's not normal. May I ask what company is your friend engaged with?
