Qatar: Past and Present

Qatar: Past and Present

It's been 3 years since Qatar won the bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, however that hasn't been the only milestone that the country has acheived over the past decade or so.

Qatar has evidently changed a lot over the past years. Below are a few opposite pictures compiled by Hamad Al Thani that portray this transformation.

He writes:

"I was on Flickr earlier today and stumbled across some pictures of Doha back in 2004. I was curious to see how much had changed in 9 years, so i went out and took pictures in the same locations…"

How long have you lived in Qatar?

brit...for the football fans not to go back they would need either a job or start their own business. Am not sure if there would be rush for jobs or businesses after 2022. On the contrary seems many businesses which got created and associated manpower returned home, which came into being specifically for the WC2022. So in all probability there would be excess rental space which got created to accommodate this manpower required for WC2022. However, would like to listen to your POV.

yes the taxis used to be dirt cheap ... the orange cabs :( and the friendly cab drivers... :( ... now with the development even the karwa drivers developed an attitude.... and they made a progress in the taxi tariff too lool...

anyways... hats off to the rapid progress qatar is making in this short time and bravo to their ambition to grow as a nation.

now give me a Qatari passport so i can chill without a sponsor. (thanks in advance)

Of course Qatar is developing. Likewise the rent and cost of living also increasing. I think, after 2022 only high standard income group can sustain here in Qatar..

I am here since 2010 along with my family....The biggest difference I feel is traffic But still appreciate the traffic police for controlling to do their best...I am very happy that Dubai won Expo-2020, So most people will go back to Dubai and traffic will reduce here in Qatar...ahahahahahhah
