One of my friends has a job offer both Qatar and Dubai with almost the same packages, and he ask me, which of two are the best regarding the work environment and places?

PS. I didn’t answer, coz I’ve never been in Dubai…hehe

I say it really depends on your lifestyle. Rent on both places are equally high.

Traffic is heavier in Dubai. Doha's traffic is getting bad as well.

Doha has less places to visit on weekends as compared to Dubai. Petrol is cheaper in Doha. There are more places to visit in Dubai such as malls, shops, bars, etc. Dubai is more cosmopolitan. Doha is still a bit more consevative.

All in all, both places are just 40 mins away by plane so you can always choose...

But if you're out to save... better stick to Doha.

If you are a fun loving guy with a small family, like to go shopping every night and do not mind wasting hours in traffic than go to Dubai. Dubai is like a commercial place where you got to pay for everything even for the parking downstairs your apartment, outside your office if located downtown and road tax.

Fuel in Dubai is QR6.25 per gallon, cooking gas is QR82 per 14kg cylinder and many more. But the most frustrating is traffic and traffic. Now, the choice is yours.
