police clearance for canadians
hi,
for canadians already living and working in Qatar, if you go to a new employer and switch your sponsor, you need to get a new police clearance.
the embassy in kuwait sent me the statutory declaration form but said it might not be accepted by the Qatari authorities.
does anyone have any experience with this? was the form accepted?
i think the british embassy does something similar so i am hoping it would be.

gOT ONE FROM iRELAND ABOUT 18 MONTHS ago (sorry caps)was certified by British Embassy here (we have no embassy here)stamped by foreign ministry here and sponsorship changed no problem.
This year needed another. Police posted direct here in September still not arrived!
Asked for another, sent here DHL British Embassy can't certify, must be validated by foreign ministry in Ireland! Sent back and certified in Ireland, arrived here took to foreign ministry, can't certify without British Embassy Stamp, stamped by Embassy and Qatar Foreign Ministry today.
Make sure it is stamped in Canada before coming here.
EXTRA COSTS FOR ME, 75 Euros DHL, 20 euros Irish Stam and 28 british pounds British Embassy stamp. What a joke, haven't lived in Ireland for 40 years!
My understanding is that you can get a 1 year RP without a police clearance. When you go back home to Canada you can get a police clearance in order to obtain your 2 year RP.
