select what can be from second hand: i.e. some furniture is ok, carpets, rugs are ok, crafts/arts are ok (they can be checked if are clean, disinfected, with no bugs, proper or not);

avoid electric or electronic items, you may not know if have hidden faults of they are proper to be used and will not take fire or give short circuits that can put on fire your house.

personally I would not buy second hand items as clothes and linen or tableware and kitchenware.

but as previously said, everything is reported to your budget and future incomes...
