am working in a construction company here in qatar
my company is a subcontractor at ras laffan
i just want a proper guidence from you regarding workers insurance
in my site more than 10 workers died . some of them are site accedent and others natural death. when i contact to our HO regarding their compansation company saying they didnt have any insurance packege.( i heard comapny is not registred)
in this case how can i help them in leagal way??
is they get any compansation if i go to govt. leagal dept?
how can i prove these are accedent/ natural death.( today morning we found a workers body on site)
please tell me how can i help them in leagal way.
company didnt pay any money for their family. is any provision there in qatar law reg this matter??

Any call from you to Labor Department or To the Police ,will be more then enough to solve this problem..

- The company and/or the insurer should pay a diyah to their families.
- The amount of diyah for accidental death is currently set at QAR 200,000.
- You/or the families' legal representatives should check the police and public prosecution reports to confirm whether or not it is an accidental death.
I bet u the compensation is very much there but an inside job doesnt help the real victim receive it....
It sounds like reading a horror movie. But this cannot happen in Qatar
How can a company which is not registered, employ workers?
How can they get a license to sub-contract a work in Ras-laffan
What are they doing with the dead bodies?
Bodies cannot be disposed or sent back to their origins without the knowledge of the authorities or police.
So, the police/authorities should have taken action immediately after the 1st death.

In any legal matters such, always rely to your individual embassies. I know it will take time but its legal and its right. They have all the means to communicate with the Good Government of Qatar, so NO problem.
Believe me, with my experience, never do anything such without the embassy back-up.
But don't sleep on it, always follow-up with them regarding the status of your sensitive case.

See the value for human life....Pathetic... Just call the police and inform them. Also ensure to inform the concerned embassy.
the best thing you can is to go to qatar labor department, they will tell you what to do. as far as i know, all worker here in qatar are insured.

That is not your job. It is a matter for the police. If the feel that foul play is suspected they will make arrests.
