As far as I heard about Qatargas, I don't think they pay such a less amount for the position you mentioned. Perhaps it is a private company holding a contract with Qatargas. As the work is in Qatargas site, they call themselves Qatargas. First of all you have to clear this matter.

About accepting the offer, it depends on your situation back home. If you are jobless or find it hard to get a job there, you can think over accepting it. But Leaving a well established job for this amount is nothing but foolishness.

Present day Qatar is very expensive please note.

Wish you all the very best.

No bills to pay.

No rent to pay

food is free

Transportation is free

plus one free ticket back home.

QR1500 p/m = just over 20,000 Indian rupees

Which I think is a disposable income.

You have to ask yourself can you save 20,000 a month in India then this salary is low otherwise it is OK..

this is not enough i know that but you know that house drivers got the salary only from 500 to 700 QR and they have to buy the ticket by there own,

our company drivers are getting only 1200 plus some over time 7 Qr per hour max 2 hours per day they can get and they have to bear there living expense and ticket buy there self's and also RP expenditures its really not good here with so much living coast.

I think your getting little bit more than GARBAGE MAN in Qatar. Common, how can you say it a SALARY. It's nothing. You will spend it within days. Labours are living in a very miserable position in M.E. So, plz don't make mistake by accepting this offer or you will be sorry

Dont ever dream to come here to Doha with 1500.. you wont be able to save anything, and if you are married, you cannot bring your wife.. u need to be a forced bachelor.

if you are a bachelor then u need to stay as a bachelor...

A lot of people are working with 600 to 1000 QR per month with housing and transport. They have been here for morethan 3 years I don't know how they live. They only get airticket once in two years only.

1500 from Qatargas...UNBELIEVABLE.

Its either not on direct payroll of Rasgas(maybe some contractor etc) or its surely not 1500QR.

1500 ???

If like majority of the Migrants ... who do not have access to internet and are staying in Doha but mentally living back home ....

I mean they work go back to residence and come to work next day morning...

And every Firday Company bus takes them to market for buying necessities...

People whom you are asking here are all well to do kinda guyz who can afford internet bill of 200 - 300 QR/month and spend anything from 150 - 1000 QR in a weekend to Fool around... may be more....

What I would suggest -

You see wht is priority..... If you wanna come here earn money and go back after couple of yrs....

You would need minimum 500 QR/month to sustain here...

remaining you can send home...

Else.. If you wanna live a life....

you need at least 4000 QR/month + Accommodation + transport. (To stay alone )

For bringing family . . . add 3 K more.. minimum....

But ask for more......

Yes the people offering salary shall be as per the money you where making back home....

but If you have exp of more than 10 yrs.. don settle for anything less than 5000..... this is if MONEY is biggest driving force to come here... for some family commitment...... ( I don know.. if you have a pressing reason to earn...)

but then you ll be jus counting dayz to go back.. and wont be living a life here......

remember Dude... No one is doing favor on you and neither are you doin a favor by coming here....

So bargain.... Ask for more....

Assume you would need 2000 to live here and wanna send at least 3000 back home... and bargain for 5K....

You don get until you ask for... Gulf Rule of survival.. :)

agree wiht missx. sure you can live but will you be happy while living here? i don't think so. and don't think of your family only, think also of yourself. after all you are supporting them. so if you will not be happy here, and be sick or something, that would affect them too.

I know someone who can live without any salary! and must admit she lives not too bad.. Beverly Hills tower, new Merc, only first class travelling, only 5+ stars hotels, Gucci-Versace...

Of course you can live for 1500!! it all depends on what type of boyfriend do you have..

The people here in QL are basicall rich and higher salary in DOHA Qatar. You got house food and transport everything what else do you need? If you are single and you can get that money in your country take this position, if not forget about this.

In theory, he will have absolutely no expenses in Qatar, as basic needs are covered. So all of his pay could be sent home. However merely surviving and being able to live are 2 different things. You can survive, yes. But you will not be happy.

It's a really bad offer, with really long hours and does not allow you any real time for yourself, nor any extra money to spend on yourself.

OMG. QR1500 is one time shopping for groceries at carrefour. Is it really Qatargas or its project contractor?

I think you can send up to 15 to 18 thousand INR per month (if u gets overtime). For a middle class family it is a sufficient amount .

You can live but you can't save. You can still send QR1000 to your family. So how much is that in rupee? You think its enough? so you have 500 with you (good luck).

But you can also do partime for extra income like office cleaning and houses. But still its your choice.

We have partime cleaner here. He is from India. Salary is 1500 construction worker. Free meal and house. He told me that he send all salary to his family and no savings. The only money he got is the one he earns from partime cleaning w/c is 200 a month from our office only.

is it really riyal or can you check it again and maybe it's in USD coz I still couldn't believe that a company like Qatargas would offer such low salary like that

1500 is too less to survive in an expensive country like Qatar, leave aside saving and remitting money home.

surprised with the offer of RasGas, did u mean 15,000 by any chance?

By anonymous• 1 Jul 2009 14:02
anonymous

...don't come all the way for this money. You must be converting 1500 QR into rupees and then comparing the amount with the salaries in India for the same position. Don't make that mistake as 1500 QR won't help you sustain only you here. Doha is an expensive city.

You need a minimum salary of 7000 QAR +Accomodation company provided for self +family , annual tkts for family and other benefits like medical . Otherwise don t bother to comeover and go back in few months. The salary you have indicated is equal to a maid salary or housekeeping boy salary here .

The salary is very less if you are planning to send money home. You wont be able to afford bringing your family too if you are married.
