Hi all,
My mobile phone died today and I need to replace it, with a Blackberry, iPhone, or something similar. Any recommendations on phones to buy (or avoid)? Any recommendations on stores with the best prices or selection?
Thanks!

1. Good for entertainment has above 60,000 Free & paid applications from apple store
2. Has frequent updates from apple via itunes
3. Can be jailbroken (Jailbreaking removes the full restriction of apple it will enable your device to customize as you like)
Cons.
1. Price range is very high (3GS 16GB starts from 3000+ riyals)
2. Contract phones are bit cheaper but has many restrictions
3. contract phones need to be unlocked via software however it is subject to availability
(you may find a solution maybe not, if not u have to rely on hardwae unlock (turbo sims), however these all costs money
4. Frequent update from apple makes posibility to lock your phone back to contract, as i said before you may unlock back again if a software solution is available. (ie. iphone 3.1 version was released on 8th of september nearly one month ago but no solution found till now)
5. iphone accessories are expensive including replacements. (ie. according to local market here in Doha headset, case pouch are bit expensive compare to other brands (nokia & blackberry),
6. It easily get damaged as it has a full size of digiter+lcd which is very expensive
7. warranty not valid jailbroken devices
8. even if have a valid reason for warranty you need to send it back to overseas repair centre as there is no official agents available in local (qatar)
(neither vodafone or starlink official agents according to apple website)
Blackberry
Pros.
1. Price range is reasonable
2. variety of models according to features & price
3. Contract phones are still cheaper than compare to local retailers (starlink)
4. Contract phones can be unlocked premanently with valid unlock codes
(Unlock codes can be easily obtained from operator)
5. Has full customer supports in Qatar (Qtel/Vodafone)
6. Blackberry services available in Qatar (Blackberry services will enable you get your emails on your blackberry devices via pushmail supports)
Cons.
1. Has limited softwares compare to apple iphone.
2. it takes sometimes to get familiar with the divice.
