Dear Friends, I need your kind advice. I am a sales executive working in Dubai in the Computer accessories distribution. my total monthly salary is AED 8500/- in dubai.
I have been offered a job in Qatar by a well known company who are specialist in construction related cable manufacturing and distribution. the package is take home 11,000QR and a car. i have a wife and 2 kids. first kid is studying in grade 1 and the second one is 1 yr old. my question is...

1)would u advice me to take up this opportunity as the construction sector looks great in the future?

2) will i be able to live a good decent life and make some decent amount of savings with the salary offered?

3) a friend of mine who just moved to qatar told me that monthly rent is 2500QR for a 2 bhk flat ( unfurnished ) in the outskirts of Doha. never got a chance to ask him name of the area. is this true as i see the rents are quite high in qatar.

your kind advice and help is highly appreciated friends

many thanks in advance

Make sure that you really like the job. because

if not, they will not give you release and you have to move again.

The expenses here are fairly similar to Dubai but there are less places to spend in Doha so your expenses do decrease. Atleast mine did.

2500 is too low a figure even for outskirts, go through the classified here and in Gulf Times classifieds to get a more accurate idea of the rents.

Dubai and Qatar , are much alike in cost of living and rent .

so if you have a better offer here , why not ?

Tell your employers in Dubai that you have received an offer from Qatar and you will get double of the salary you are getting now and you are considering it.

See if they offer you a raise to retain you.
