Your friend can have HOTEL VISA in which he/she will be under the hotel's sponsorship. Your friend must only stay in the same hotel for the whole period while he/she is in Doha and cannot stay with you. Visa fee ranges from QR250-400 per visa and validity depends on the number of nights your friend is booked in the hotel. Processing will take 5working days. Your friend needs QR5000 in cash or equivalent to any major credit card upon arrival at the airport or he/she will be deported without it once immigration checks it.
u can get a tourist visa through Qatar Airways.

if its a matter of ten days then let him use a visit visa, which could be aquired through qatar airways or any hotel in doha...
