Monthly Expenditure
What is the average monthly cost for a family of 6.
Excluding housing, education car rental.
I would be basically left with 15k per month. Is this ample to cover food, maid, water/elec,phone,TV and a bit of savings?

why should someone feel guilty for having 4 kids?
lol! you should have really worked on family planning! Especially if all you can make is 15K an expect all 6 to live decently! Man that must make you so guilty eh?
spend about QR100 on ingredients for a dinner meal... so as an example, you could probably feed a family of 6 on shwarmas and fries for about Qr100. That would give you about 8 Shwarmas and 2 large fries plates and drinks.
If you eat from cafeterias instead of Macd's or Burger King it will be way cheaper, with a Burger being only 6QR and a plate (including fries and salad) about 10QR.
If you look in the right places you can find food much more cheaply than you would a the places you would normally frequent. Portion sizes are quite big at these small out of the way places.
That's about right drmana, once or twice takeway or eat outside, the rest would be at home. My family members are not great eaters...The usual junk food, Burger King, Pizza Hut, etc...
Whatevers left is the savings, lol.

It depends solely on your lifestyle. People are having a good life here in much less than that. But as you said you would be eating out many times with 6 family members, that increase the cost of living significantly. For maid, the average here would be 1500 QAR per month. Water/Electricity is cheap here. Cable tv/ internet would be around 300 per month. If eating out about once a week and eat at home other days, you can save few thousands.

Mum, Dad and 4 (school going)kids,yes.
When you say "family of 6" do you mean mom, dad, and four kids? Or do you mean, mom, dad, two kids and two grandparents? Also, the age of the kids may change things.
