Hi ,

I am Deepti an Indian National , holding a C.A degree. I will be relocating to Doha to accompany my husband who will move to Doha around the same time . I have a few questions on which i need advice :

1) what are the job opportunities available for women like myself , holding a chartered accountant degree . I have 8+ year exp in heading the finance department of US and European multinational companies. Also what is the salary ranges for such jobs .

2) I have 2 sons -- Aged 3 & 6 -- Which are some international schools to whom i can apply

3) Can a Dependent Visa be converted to working visa after i come to Doha .

4)I have an Indian and Thai driving License -- can i get one for qatar too

I would really appreciate if someone could help me with the above -- I am really confused at the moment ----

Thank you

Hi Deepthi,

1. It’s not that difficult to find a job for you as you are on your Husband’ s sponsorship. Charted accounts with experience are always in Demand. I am not sure about the Salary range, but International Companies pay good salary with all benefits. It’s easier to get Jobs in good local companies but their pay won’t be very competitive compared to International Oil & Gas companies. Once you are here you can apply for the ads that come in the local newspaper. The advantage of being in husbands visa is that you can always change the job when you get a better opportunity.

2. Getting admission in good International Schools are bit difficult, as they have a long waiting list. And also first preference is given to westerners. But many new schools are opening. If you do a search in this site you can get details of International Schools.

3. You don’t have to change your visa to work visa. Ladies can work on dependant Visa.

4. You will have to go for a driving test to get a Qatari Driving License. They will convert GCC countries License without test.

Hope this helps.
