Is it normal and legal that the company did not follow the Labor Law about the Ramadan 6 hour working time?
As we are working busy for more than half of the month, we understand our boss for making us work normal hours for the first 2 weeks of Ramadan, but now as we are not so much busy, we are expecting that they will follow the Ramadan timing for just 6 hours but they did not do until now. Is it legal or not? Do the labor law strict about this or it depend on each company? Do we have the right to complain or no? Thanks a lot..
I think it is not legal for any company to make Muslim employees work for more than 6 hours during Ramadan while fasting. The rule applies to all companies in Qatar. Yes, a Muslim employee can lodges a complain to the concerned authorities who will take the company to task. You can possibly report the matter National Human Rights Committee who may help you out.
