If you are working for QP in Mesaieed you should try the new school opening their this term.

It is English curriculum and the staff are mostly UK nationals.

Look at the MIC website www.mic.com.qa and then under community in the menu on the left open the section for MIC INternational school.

Sorry I ment second last week in August. Also You'll be coming over just before or at the start of Ramadan (month of Fasting) so just bear that in mind so no eating or drinking in Public this (includes your car) from sun up to sun down and all the bars will be closed no matter what. Children are allowed to eat and drink however, but it is still not advisable for them to be doing it in public..

The schools are closed now for summer holidays that is part of the reason for no response, most will be back around the second last week in September so try then.

As most have said the British schools give preference to British citizens.

Most schools unfortunately will have filled most of their places as of the end of June and will now wait till the end of September to find out how many of those places will be taken up before offering them to others on the waiting list. Al though if you are working for QP and depending on the grades the children are in they QP should be able to get you into either DESS or Doha College.

Just a word of advice your children will be required to sit an entrance exam for most of the schools here and also the British system starts the children younger than Oz, to give you and example my daughter is 6 and she goes into 2nd grade this September. Hope this helps...Cheers

School placements are quite difficult to find due to the fact that there are so many people here!! We started back in March and have places. Good luck, maybe if you dont find anything you can always have an early start for next year. We applied for 2 years until we got the school of choice!!

Good luck,,A

I know you're probably going to want to hit me for saying this, but good luck to you. Normally the British schools here give priority to British Citizens (sounds quite racist but given the circumstances of when they transfer back home quite reasonable) - having said that there's such a rush for places in these schools that even British citizens are placed on waiting lists simply becuase the schools can't cope with the numbers. Many families are turning to home-schooling - would you consider that as an option?????? Aside from that (and my own parents had to go through this themselves adn we're British), the rest is just up to luck....
