I am about to say yes

I am about to say yes to a job offer. I have also resigned to the fact that a halfway decent 2 BR apartment will cost 11-12K a month (thats a shame!!!). What I need to know is how much would the following cost:

1. Food & Groceries for 2 people
2. Utilities water+gas+telephone ( I beleive electricity is included in the rent)
3. Auto (inlcuding rental & fuel)
4. Clothing
5. Personal care items
6. And yes entertainment!!

any feedback will be appreciated. You guys dont want another one suckered into saying yes and then relizing that he goofed up. do you now??

I would just look up some banks in Doha and touch base with HR. Worked in my case. Good luck!!!!!

Can anyone recommend real estate commercial banking jobs in Qatar? I am moving to Qatar in September with my husband and would like to find a banking job. Any recommendations would be greatly apreciated. Many thanks,

Zen

Safe to assume that 2 people can have a decent enough life style for say 20k a month (rent, groceries, auto lease, etc etc and everything). By the ways thanks to all for their valuable input.

If you search the site you'l find lots more detail.

Rough figures :

1. groceries will cost around QR2000

2. utilities depends on phone usage (international and mobile calls) but you could budget for QR1000 including ADSL and mobile

3. as people mentioned, depends on what you want to drive. A Toyota Corolla would cost you about QR60k and the interest rate is about 4% so you can do the maths. Petrol will cost you maximum QR200 per month

4. This really depends on what you wear. In Doha you can get jeans for QR50 or QR500

5. No idea!

6. A movie tickets costs QR40

your expenses will vary greatly depending on what you like to eat, what kind of entertainment you like and what car you want to drive!

I agree with Nanikijani's amount.

Good luck - remember Qatar is what you make of it, but having a loved one here makes all the difference.

I will fly out here with family to work for a bank..i have been told one can easily spend QR10k per month on living expenses (bills groceries, ent.) if one has kids.

If your just a couple then Qr7-8k should be fair amount ..if u dont mind me asking what do u do and what package are u comming on..just useful to compare..you can email me on [email protected] and stay in touch when you get here
