How much Salary would be enough?

Hello all

I got an offer to work in Doha. Currently I am working and living in Dubai.
I heard Doha life costs are high but I doubt higher than Dubai??!!
I am not married so I would like to know to have a comfortable life, living in a nice one/B flat in a good location, eating healthy in good restaurants I mean not in fast food courts, ….generally how much should I expect as my total salary (including housing allowance, transportation, medical,..) per month?
Do you suggest I ask the company provide me furnished flat?
I have been in Doha twice, but I haven’t seen any tall building like in Dubai. Does any body know where should I look for new buildings or I have to focus on a compound?

Regards

i guess u shud ask the company for a furnished flat.. and the rest is alright.. i guess u shud be able to manage.. car i guess company will be giving or you can keep about 2000 per month for it.. eating all the 3 meals at reasonable places everyday.. say another 1500 - 2000 per month..then you partying is dependent on u.. mobile bills again dependent on usage.. its almost 1.5 times dubai..

I think dragonfly meant that you can spend even 50K, not that anything less won't be enough.

We have some other shopping malls here as well (Landmark, City Center, The Mall) but they are more high street shops, not all the designers.

or a goooood allowance is given...otherwise it's not worth it...

but on your question:How much Salary would be enough?.... well.. SALARY IN NEVER ENOUGH! no matter whether you get 5000, 50,000 or 500,000..the higher your salary, the higher your expenses...

i compared in some food menu I knew them in Dubai like Chilis or Friday or so on which are similar prices. But you are right. I just saw one shopping mall Villagio if I am right but in Dubai I enjoy going different fancy malls.

To rent a car is about 2000 rials (not the best car in the world, of course).

Buffet brunch in a good hotel is around 200-300 rials.

Meal in a restaurant, depends of course what and how much you are eating, but say starting 100 rials up (per person. I'm talking an ok restaurant).

Visit at the doctor between 100 and 300 rials (general practitioner).

Definitely best to ask company to provide accommodation, that's one of the highest costs...

Apart from that, you can spend as much as you like here, really... I think cost of living is very comparable to Dubai.. Just not so many designer stores here :)
