MY FRIEND IS HAVING A CONFUSSION
HE IS AN EXECUTIVE BACHELOR
AND HE RENTED A SHARED ACCOMODATION IN A VILLA
FOR QR 2000
MOST OF TIME HE HAVE OFFICIAL VISITS TO OTHER COUNTRIES
AND SO HE WONT BE STAYING IN HIS ROOM WHOLE MONTH. BUT, HE STAYS
NOT LESS THAN 15-20 DAYS. ALL OF HIS BELONGINGS ARE IN HIS ROOM.AND NO ONE ELSE OTHER THAN HIM IS STAYING THERE.
THAT MEANS , WHEN HE GOES OUT , THE ROOM WILL BE CLOSED BY HIM SELF
THE QUESTION IS ..
HE SAYS THAT HE DOESNT NEED TO PAY QR 2000 AS RENT
BUT IT SHOULD BE LIKE HOW MANY DAYS HE STAYS THERE.
AND WHAT LANDLORD IS DOING TO HIM IS UNFAIR.
BUT HIS ELECTRICITY AND WATER BILLS ARE ACCORDING TO
THE DAY HE STAYS THERE.
SO...

if he is out most of the time, then why don't he give up the room? he should stay in the hotel. that the right place for him. or he can choice one of those images here.

My roommate is working 7 hours a day which 2 days off weekly (35 hours a week), and I am working 12 hours a day with one day off weekly (72 hours a week). Why we have to pay same rent, since he spend home much more time than I do? Can you please calclate the "fair" rent for us?

I sleep at my place like 5 days a month and return home only late night even on those days, should I pay 1/6th of the rent.... Hell No.. You pay the rent you agreed for the whole month...
flexicode is right...what else he asked about that style in paying elect & water?....some landlords theyre just setting amount for thier tenants with out the bill. Some also are paying the share for the whole month even he only used for 10 days (like my case :( )...

Your friend has no reason to call the landlord unfair. He is charging w/e only for the number of days he stays in the room. what else does he want?

its common practice and common sense...
If you rent a room pay monthly except the landlord said pay daily like hotel style that there will be check in and chec-out......if you check out take ur stuffs with you, so others will sheck-in also.
and 2,000 rent is not bad rent at present.
What a baseless question.. He took the roon for 2000 per month whether he stay or don't stay for whole month,it dosn't matter.
Simple, if the room can be rented out in his absence, he can pay less. If he wants to keep his things in his room, he pays full.
Normally one pays monthly rent no matter how many days hours or minutes one actually occupies the room during this month.
