How much can a family of 7 save on 60K Qatari Rial per month?

Hai Boys & Girls,

We are considering to move to Qatar. We are a big family with 5 kids. We are concerned with the living costs especially housing and schooling. We would need at least a comfortable 3 bedroom place. School prices we heard is very high and we have 4 schooling children. Our indicative package is about 60K Qatari Rial per month all in.Would we be able to handle Qatar living cost and have some savings for a rainy day? We live modestly but children education and activities are always paramount to us.

Appreciate any guidance that anybody can give us.

It's a solid package financially.

Villa with 3 bedrooms (shoot for 4 BR somewhere on a nice compound) should run you around 15-20K.

Schooling costs vary -- but what would concern me more than the costs is finding a place for my four kids. Most quality schools here have ginormous waiting lists, and getting 4 spots in the same school will be tough going...unless your employer can guarantee spots for you somewhere.

Explore this situation before you commit to things.

Depends on whether you are getting company accomodation/school fees etc etc..

even if you have to pay all these from ur pocket, I still think it is good enough..you can easily save a minimum of 25K..

after spending "MOST" lavishly; 20 - 25K per month should not be a problem.
