Guys,

A friend of mine is working in Qatar for 1.5 yrs. His current company has no more job for him and willing to change his sponsorship. A new sponsor is ready to take him in. Is there any particular rule that he must have completed 2 years with his current employer before he jumps into new?

Please help.

I was told (by company) the requirement is 24 months, unless we submitted a secondee visa request (to his current company) on the individual for 6 months, which would then bring him up to the required 24 months to fully transfer over to us.

The rule stipulates 1 year with a sponsor before sponsorship can be changed. So your friend is fine.

As far as I know, there is no such rule. You need to get NOC from your current employer for changing sponsorship. However, sometimes due to some govt restrictions, immigration does not entertain change of sponsorship but this is random and cannot be predicted.
