I always get the visit visa on arrival at doha airport, and you can get it extended for further 3 months from Airport Visa Section, like I do.

Try there.

Tourist visa is normally non extendable. While you can try with the airport immigration, it depends on their mood. they have discretion power, that is all!! have a good luck!
