I am a British Woman, trained as an Executive Assistant/Secretary working at Director Level, I will be coming out to Doha in the New Year with my husband and will be looking to find employment for myself during his contract, How realistic will this be?

this is very realistic. there are job adverts for executive secretaries at least every day.dont worry too much u will be fine and u should be working at least in the first 3 weeks when u get here.

i have been inspired to take a secretarial couurse because of the job opportunities available.

good luck

You can have as many years experience you want, you need the right connections, many jobs go by word of mouth and who you know.

Age does now play a role in Qatar it is difficult to find a job from end of 40's onwards, again this all depends upon who you know and in which field you want to work.

As you will be locally employed the salaries are not as high as if you are employed from abroad and mostly no fringe benifits.

Look through the agencies here and see what you can find, however, make sure you have all your school certificates (original) when you come you will be asked to produce them.

its as easy as 1,2,3.... as long as U agree with the terms & conditions being offered to U. here, work-visas are no problem at all - good luck!

It all depends on your years of experience. Anyway, it's not that hard to get a job here most likely if you're holding a family visa.

Give and take 2 weeks, you'll seal a job. If you don't like it, you can just leave. Sigh. The joys of having father/husband sponsorship.
