How can I get back my stuff from the police???

I'd lost a big amount of the money and investigator ask me to bring my hand bag with wallet with everything in my hand bag for examine the finger print. RIght now it's 4 months already and last month I've been trying to contact Mr. investigator and he said he sent my stuff to other department and now he doesn't know where it is...Then I called him again, he said come to my office, because he received 1 bag which was returned from the other department. I went there..Oh NO..My heart fell down and about to cry..It wasn't my bag!!! It's just the ugly old bag..Mine is Purple Leather of Lamgchamps and wallet is GUCCI and scarf is cashmere in leopard printing..
I need help...what can I do????

I guess some lady musta got a nice 2009 Christmas gift containing a bag of Purple Leather of Lamgchamps and GUCCI wallet and a cashmere scarf in leopard print.
