Housemaids paying money to the phillipines for over seas employment
Hi , when you pay the agency fees for a maid, you pay an amount of money to the Philipino government POEA so she can work abroad. After she has finished her two year contract, and she wants to extend her contract or have an NOC wiith another sponsor, does this money still have to be paid again to the phillipines and If so, by whom?
Thank you
Placement fee for the agency is a one time payment fee. Philhealth and OWWA membership is an annual or yearly payment required for all OFWs. Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) is required for those going back to the Philippines for leave or vacation. All these are paid by the employee unless there is an arrangement provided. It the employee is going to transfer to another sponsor, it is prudent to get the new contract stamped in the POLO for the employee's security.
Before your maid goes home for vacation you can pay the dues for OEC (Overseas Employment Certificate) at POLO (Philippine Overseas Labor Office) at Bin Omran..Then she can return to Qatar easily.
Can this money be paid locally at the phillipino embassy ?
My maid is saying she cannot come back unless I pay her tax and insurance in the Phillipines
The money has to be paid by new sponsor ......
