Has Vonage been blocked or is it not working due to the "cut cable" in the Mediterranean?

Since the cable was cut in the Mediterranean the internet has been quite slow. It appears that Qtel has routed the signals through other cables since it has picked up quite a bit of speed over the past few days.

However, Vonage is still not working. Skype (voice only) is working, but as of Christmas it wasn't working with video.

Has Vonage been blocked? Is it just a matter of the cut cable? Anyone know? I use Vonage every day and miss it!

Thanks,

ES, according to some research I performed some apps involving video (like skype, oovoo, vonage, msm, ymsm) have been partially blocked to "only voice transmission" thus not affecting the available emergency bandwidth.(since video takes a big ammount of this bandwidth)

Maybe is a matter of a few days to go back to normal (they say by Dec 31st), in the meantime refrain from using these apps since their performance will be poor.

As per vonage maybe you should ask them in Qtel to see if they have somehow blocked the app. Or if there is an issue with the software.

Sorry for not being fully helpful but at least I shared what I know up to now.

Best regards!!!
