fault

can anyone tell me if an airline issues a ticket for the expired passport who will be faulty,at the time of boarding to the flight the ticket has to be cancelled because of expired passport. does the airline charge u penalty
its 100% your responsibility
Before ticketing , A travel agent aor airline ticketing official is supposed to ensure the passneger has all valid travel documents.
Incase of a deportation the airline will be penalised by the destination government authorities and they debit it to the agent.
Most countries demand a passport with minimum 6 months validity.
In this case , If the fare you purchased has a penalty for cancellation or no show.. you will be penalised despite of the reason for cancellation or noshow.
cheers
NOVITA IS RIGHT..I SECOND DEMOTION TO YOU DARLING:)
You, are responsible for this. Most countries requires you to have at least 6 month on your passport before it expires. It is normal for ticket agents to remind you of having an updated pass port but it is not a policy. So, in other words it is your responsibility to make sure your pass port is updated before you even buy the ticket. I had my pass port updated, I didn't get a new one but they put the updated stamp on page 13 because there was not room at the front. So guess what happens, even when I use my pass port as ID, the attendant will say to me your pass port is expired, even at the air port before boarding. Of course I always direct them to page 13. Any way are you saying that the airline did not honor your ticket for another day? did you buy insurance when you bought the ticket?
Passport is passenger's responsibility. Not the travel agent ...
Airline do not check the passport at the time of issuing the tickets..Paspport is your responsibility
