is it compulsory to have a rp card for joining a driving school;;i own my native countrys licence and confident enough tht i can give the test.... in such a situation is it compulsory that u have to take the learning phase....pls do comment

Also you need RP for sure. If are on visit visa, or any other visa you can also give test, but if you pass license will only be for the duration of your visa.

You might qualify for a direct test, depends on your country of license. Just fill in the driving test form and go to any driving school and ask the officer in the traffic department counter if you qualify for it. Traffic dept fees for it is Qr 50 and you have to pay Qr 100 to driving school as rent for test car. You get 2 tries to pass.

My personal experience, al- khebra school did not allow direct test, but my friend managed to get direct test from Karwa driving school. So also shop around and see which school will allow you. Good luck !

If you have a DL already from your mother country, then the traffic dep. give you two chances to apply for the test, you can apply for them through any driving school.
