Do I need my marriage certificate for resident visa?

Currently I am on a visit visa. My husband's company have my passport to commence resident visa. However, the company have told him that they need our marriage certificate. I do not have the certificate here. Are they correct in saying that we must have this? If this is so, is there another way around it?

This is mandatory here in Qatar. Also, you would be required to attest it from your embassy and Foreign affairs of Qatar(This is on Salata Street).

it is mandatory,u can ask some one from ur homecountry family to send u by DHL or any means,may be by email as well.
